Described as a pianist who always plays the piano with her full heart and passion, Tingting Wu always follows her heart with music, and thrives on the best of music for all. For her, it was a natural road to get involved with the piano. Her father is a piano teacher, and there has been a piano at home since she was born. Growing up listening to the music and with the enthusiasm deepened gradually, the music journey officially began at her age six, to study the piano in her home city Shenyang, China.

Tingting has performed in venues as a soloist in the US and China including Jordan Hall in Boston, Engelman Recital Hall in New York, Sursa Hall in Muncie, Auer Hall in Bloomington, Concert Hall and Tianqiao Theater in Beijing, and Liaoning Theater and Concert Hall in Shenyang, China. At the age 14, Tingting was invited to perform as a young artist in the Beijing International Piano Festival in 2008, returning in 2011. Moreover, she was the youngest pianist who was selected to receive the piano fellowship at the Atlantic Music Festival at Maine in 2014, and successfully collaborated and performed with the famed violinist Brian Bak and cellist Gabriel Prynn in Lorimer Chapel.

In 2015, her chamber group was named as one of the best at the New England Conservatory of Music, and the group was honored to perform in Jordan Hall, Boston. Tingting has also had the honor to work with distinguished pianists including Arie Vardi, Jerome Lowenthal, Matti Raekallio, Tamas Ungar, Alexandre Tharaud, Alexander Korsantia, Lilya Zilberstein and Robert Plano. Selected by the world-renowned composers Salvatore Sciarrino and Eric Ewazen, she performed their pieces in public such as De la nuit (1971) by memory in 2013 and Ewazen Piano Trio (1991) in 2014 with the presence of the composers.

Currently, Tingting is pursuing a D.M.A degree in piano performance at the University of Miami with the world-renowned pianist Kevin Kenner. Previous degrees and professors include master’s degree in Jacobs School of Music with the famed French-pianist Emile Naoumoff, bachelor degree from the New England Conservatory of Music with Bruce Brubaker, who is an avant-garde pianist and the department chair in piano. In China, Tingting studied with the last student of Valdimir Horowitz, Danwen Wei, who is the piano chair of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
